Pic Your President!

No, that’s not a typo in the title. Pic Your President is a Web service that lets you vote for your chosen presidential candidate through a ‘picture poll’. The service is made available via Piclyf, “a picture-based social platform that lets people share photos and do visual updates, check-ins and polls.”

Pic Your President

What sets this Web service apart from other 2010Elections-related online services is that it lets you, the voter, express WHY you’re choosing your presidentiable. Once you send in your vote, it gets published on your Facebook wall. (This is done with your permission, of course. Make sure you’re logged into your Facebook account before you cast your online vote so that Piclyf can readily detect your profile.)

Below is a quote from Eric Clark Su, co-founder of Twidl Inc. (the developer of the Piclyf platform):

The primary goal [of Pic Your President] is to map out WHY people are voting for their particular president. We feel that this is an important piece of data to collect before and post-election as it shows what resonates with the Filipino voting public.

The secondary goal is to have a readable list of good points to consider when choosing your President. The beauty of it is the points that are listed come straight from the voters themselves.

This is also our fun and modern take on mock polls. Voters can agree/disagree or share other people’s reason-of-vote.

That’s right: aside from voting, you can also click on the agree or disagree icon appearing beside other people’s own votes to either agree or disagree with their choices. Neat feature, if you ask me — I just hope it won’t spark feuds!

If you’d like to know more about this service and about Twidl Inc., go ahead and download their press kit.

Let your voice be heard! Go ahead and Pic Your President and tell everyone why!
